10:10 Electronic minimalism. Four instruments (koto, harp, xylophone and marimba usually) play repeating overlapping phrases in various time signatures, with each instrument having a different time signature to all the others. The fifth "strand" is microtonal and palindromic, as will be any others I might write.

All the pieces were created using MIDI files as a starting framework (available here), but these were not meant to be the finished works, merely a starting point for further development electronically. I subjected the MIDI output to various subtle (and some not so subtle) electronic manipulations using computer software to create the finished CD, from which mp3 reductions are available here.

Eventually I intend to combine all five strands, and possibly a sixth, into a sort of musical "spiral" which will last approximately 40 to 50 minutes.
