EXPLORING NEW DIRECTIONS AND NEW POSSIBILITIES IN MUSIC COMPOSITION.
LOTS OF DIFFERENT STYLES AND APPROACHES, EVERY PIECE A MUSICAL EXPLORATION. GIVE YOUR EARS A TREAT!

NOTE ON PLAYING MIDI FILES: All my MIDI works are meant to be played using the standard Microsoft GS Wavetable. Usage of any other wavetable will give unintended results. By all means experiment if you have the capability, but please be aware that what you end up with will not be what I intended!
Also, some MIDI files played on Winamp before version 5.3 (and it appears, after 5.541) will not play correctly. If you use Winamp, please up/downgrade to a version between 5.3 and 5.541 (incl), or alternatively, download this version or go here where you can download ANY version of Winamp.

Opus 56 subtitled "Trying to think of a long meaningless title for this piece at 3 A.M. on a rainy Saturday morning"

Opus: 56
Length: 11:45
Instruments: Computer manipulated MIDI sounds
Composed: January 2007

Download the whole Rebus Suite album free as an Albumwrapped mp3 file from Megaupload.
A curious abstract piece that started off as a computer generated MIDI file which was subsequently altered manually by me (I'm not letting the computer get all the credit!) I haven't even decided on a proper title yet, but if I come up with anything good I'll change it. Then again, maybe I'll leave it as it is. It's played by a quartet comprising marimba, sitar, shamisen and koto, and sounds utterly bizarre so of course it's perfect for this website! It's also my biggest MIDI file yet, at 275k or thereabouts, despite being only 11 minutes long. The mp3 version has some extra processing and added effects, is slightly longer and sounds much better.

OK, so it's weird, it's ridiculous, it wouldn't be classed as music by most people, but to me it's a perfect example of my "experimental" style. If you're new to my website and this is the first thing you've heard, don't be put off. Try this piece instead. But I believe any composer in the 21st Century should be receptive to all forms of music, however strange. Frank Zappa and Alfred Schnittke (to name just two recently deceased giants of the Avant Garde) would have agreed with me on this (and believe me, I've heard much stranger things than this played on the radio over the years!) So, if you don't like it, don't worry about it - there's plenty of more orthodox music on this site for you to find.

Fractal Passion

Opus: 56a
Length: 26:35
Instruments: Computer manipulated MIDI sounds
Composed: June 2007
A longer, more varied work that uses the original opus 56 piece as a starting point which I subjected to a plethora of processing techniques to create a whole new work. It is a kind of electronic orgasm, working its way up to a spectacular climax. Maybe this piece should get an 18 rating!

Free download available on MegaUpload.
