NOTE ON PLAYING MIDI FILES: All my MIDI works are meant to be played using the standard Microsoft GS Wavetable. Usage of any other wavetable will give unintended results. By all means experiment if you have the capability, but please be aware that what you end up with will not be what I intended!
Also, some MIDI files played on Winamp before version 5.3 (and it appears, after 5.541) will not play correctly. If you use Winamp, please up/downgrade to a version between 5.3 and 5.541 (incl), or alternatively, download this version or go here where you can download ANY version of Winamp.

Jaunty guitar & synth piece which uses some of my earlier themes. A good "fun" piece which should get you whistling (I must warn you - that first tune will stick in your head for weeks!)Original recording

This is the original 1980 recording (more or less). A quirky marching theme starts off the proceedings, interrupted by a REAL marching band (courtesy of T.S. Sherbourne, Stirchley 1980 - if you find this, email me for a free copy of the CD!) and motorbike sound racing across your speakers ( I have no idea who that was - he just happened to roar down the road while I had the microphone hanging out of the window. If you know who are, no free CD for you, you NOISY PRAT!) Then the second theme emerges on synths with guitar accompaniment. This runs its course then changes key from E to C for the next part - another march-like rhythm without any apparent tune. But the tune is actually lurking in the background; it gradually gets louder and louder until it totally dominates. With a sleight-of-hand trick it suddenly reveals itself as the dreaded "Upandunder" again! The whole entourage gradually fades, to be replaced with... absolute chaos. This sounds like an explosion in a music shop, with bits and pieces flying all over the place. But out of the mess a rhythm appears which the other instruments latch on to bit by bit. It's actually another of my old tunes, this time "Llamedos" but played on keyboards instead of guitars - chiefly the Farfisa organ. Some interesting variations ensue before the whole thing implodes, leaving us back with the opening march theme which disappears down the road and out of sight. And yes, that is me whistling at the end! MIDI version

This is the MIDI remake completed in Feb 2005. Quite a faithful copy of the original, including the chaos section. The motorbike wasn't too convincing though, and I wanted the original sound effects so I decided to make a "hybrid"... Hybrid version

And this is the final hybrid - mostly MIDI but with some of the original recording mixed in, especially the sound effects which MIDI can't really handle. I also included several theme tunes from children's TV shows, see if you can spot them (U.K. shows, mostly from the 60's and 70's)
