IN RESPONSE TO A REQUEST FOR SHORTER POEMS…
MATHEMATICAL PROOF OF THE EXISTENCE OF GOD or
I spied a butterfly
There was a young man from Belfast
At the end of the day...

I searched for a month
But could not find
A word that rhymed
With Month…
What a dunth.
Mathematical Proof that God Exists (for the sake of search engines)
Said God to the World's scientists
"Find me proof that I really exist"
After years of research
(And a grant from the Church)
They concluded that 00 = -epi^i
(Okay it doesn't rhyme but it's mathematically profound. I beat XKCD here by several years!)
(See this page for some mathematical stuff)
And saw it flutter by
Then I watched a cockroach
Stop to rock a coach
Finally a dragonfly deemed to try
To drink my flagon dry.
Who ran so excessively fast
He went out today
In the usual way
And came back the night before last...
(Note - This is actually my very first poem, written when I was about 12 years old!)
I HATE that cliché!
