CIRCLE ROUND THE SUN
Like a circle round the sun,
Like an image of a thought,
Like a dream within a dream;
All your memories add to naught.
Like emotion cancels sense,
Like horizons never caught,
Are involved with consequence
All the battles ever fought.
Insalubriation and a will to live
In a combination designated to deceive...
Patterns of a troubled mind
Swirl in hazy monochrome;
Which is real and which is not? -
Holds the fool to turn to stone.
Realize the one who weeps
Watching over human tears,
As they weave their finite web
Closing fast on future years.
In a sense unfeeling situations rise
Like a view unreeling, opens up before your eyes...
... And the reason comes clear
As the distance draws near
And you know you must go
But the hour is unclear...
Like a spiral starts at nil
Returns, a sphere (as feared) to start again;
All your memories cancel still -
Only your emotions still remain.
Don't reply to all that sings
Out to you in your own voice:
Don't rely on golden rings -
Look for harmony within the noise.
Is it too important, in a twilight zone
Not to be immortal, even when your words are known?
