&ante Melancholico
To &rea (names have been changed to protect the guilty)
& after all is said & done
My life has been a lonely one,
& when I sometimes think of you
I underst& your point of view.
& often whilst I contemplate,
The time-worn s&s accumulate
& all the projects I had pl&
Are left unfinished & unsc&.
& gr& concepts I could rely on;
Like &rocles I faced the lion,
& with my skills, I passed the test -
I thought I could withst& the best.
& through the t&gled rigmarole
You crushed my spirit & my soul,
& all your f&gled arguments
Have left me str&ed in defence.
& out of all potential ills
Your offh& comments hurt me still,
& of a thous& garl&s paved
Across the wastel&s, none were saved.
& should you only lend a h&,
My troubled thoughts I may disb&;
& loneliness I can’t abide -
Unm& I st&, so bl& inside.
