Year Mins Description of individual pieces on CD (Click on the titles for more info.)
Hitch-Hiker Suite 1986 08:16 Fast-moving sequenced synth pop made on the Yamaha.
Upandunder Overture 1979 04:13 A MIDI reworking of my first synthesiser piece from 1979.
Chinese Cheesecake 1979 04:14 A wierd musical "perpetuum mobile".
Nova 197905:53 A giant musical crescendo like an exploding star.
Variations on a Lennon/McCartney Theme Mar 200509:45 My arrangement of "It's for You" by Lennon & McCartney, for strings & harp. The CD version was made using the Garritan Personal Orchestra, and sounds like the real thing.
Vertigo 198606:30 Trippy swirly perpetuum mobile which goes right off the rails at the end. Don't look down!
Just Passing Through 198204:45 A MIDI reworking of the old Red Herring instrumental, with added effects.
Herringbone Concerto 1980 15:04 Jaunty guitar & synth piece which goes way back to 1980 when I was just 22 and starting to experiment with multi-track recordings with annoyingly cheap and primitive equipment. See how many UK Children's TV theme tunes you can spot in it!
here i go 198003:00 Take Syd Barrett's moody post-Floyd song, strip off the vocals (sorry, Syd), raise the pitch by about a fifth, speed the whole thing up and add a couple of bubbly synths, and this is what you get.
Pete's Piano Piece 197802:00This piece isn't actually by me, but my friend Peter, who improvised this little piece in 1978.
The Left Bank (arr. Elwood) 200804:50 I recently decided to have a go at revamping the old "Vision On" gallery theme. It was never heard fully on the programme, and the original is only two minutes long anyway. So I added some improvisations of my own. See if you can spot another famous and quite relevant tune I sneaked in at one point!
The Last Herring 198404:30 Another instrumental band piece. Sounds a bit like "Egyptian Reggae" by Jonathan Richman (but isn't).
Elwood's Xmas song 2007 02:27 The Upandunder tune with Xmas lyrics added.
