CRAFT FROM EARTH LANDS ON MARTIAN SURFACE
The latest Earth spacecraft which has been observed with some trepidation by Martian astronomers approaching for the last 11 months has landed on the Martian surface today.
The main craft remained in low orbit and sent a small probe to land at Chryse Planitia. This is the latest in a string of attempts in recent years by the Earth inhabitants to reach us. This new attempt was allowed to complete its safe landing as it was nowhere near any populated areas, and also it was argued that it would allow us to better understand the Human's intentions if it was left intact (once it had been shown that there was no life aboard it.)
It appears to be a simple probe, capable merely of transmitting optical data back to its home planet. To interfere with it now would be hazardous; we have no intention of revealing our presence to the Humans until we are satisfied that their intentions are peaceful.
