NEW EARTH CRAFT SEEN - POSSIBLY INHABITED
Nowadays it's no longer news if a new projectile has been spotted leaving the Earth's atmosphere - but the one seen yesterday by astronomers at Olympus Mons was notable in that it was observed to make a deliberate controlled landing in a small inland sea - presumably, say the astronomers, because the craft held a valuable passenger. This is in stark contrast to all the other human-made objects that have been shot out of their thick atmosphere in the last couple of years - all of them either fell back to Earth or collided with their moon, Luna.
"This emphasises the theory that the Humans are extremely anxious to find a way of getting into space" said a senior official when told of the news. "I can't understand what the sudden panic is for; after all, it's not as if their world is about to explode or anything. Maybe it's just a current fad of theirs, and will subside when they find something else to do - usually involving killing each other, as we've observed time and time again on their world."
