SECOND NUCLEAR EXPLOSION SEEN ON EARTH

A second explosion which was "definitely of a nuclear nature" was seen today - this time directly by Martian astronomers, who have been watching Earth intently since the announcement of a previous nuclear explosion seen by Mercurian astronomers three days ago.

The surveillance of Earth's electromagnetic spectrum by Martian scientists and linguists was started at the same time, and has yielded significant results. It has been ascertained that there is a major war in progress on the surface, which involves the majority of the planet, and furthermore, that this has been the situation for a number of years.

The implications of this discovery are worrying, and all parties are unanimous in their opinion that the planet Earth will from now on be watched very carefully indeed, in case this conflagration escalates into space.
